Report Piracy

Internet Archive’s New Emergency Library

Many of you have reached out to us in the past week expressing your outrage over the Internet Archive’s new “National Emergency Library,” which makes unauthorized copies of copyrighted works publicly available through June 30, 2020, under the guise of providing a community service during this global crisis.

We share your concerns. The IA’s scanning and distribution of copyrighted works without permission infringes the legal rights of publishers and authors, and we condemn their opportunistic attack on those rights during these especially challenging times. The AAP and Author’s Guild have also issued statements strongly opposing IA’s library:

We can assure you that we will continue to send take-down notices to the IA when you notify us that your titles are available on their site. You can also submit a reportdirectly with our anti-piracy vendor using our online reporting form:

Hachette Book Group is firmly committed to combating online piracy and your assistance in reporting such incidents tremendously supports this effort. Hachette Book Group has enlisted the help of Attributor, a Digimarc Company, to investigate reports of online piracy of our titles. Once instances of infringement are verified, our service provider will contact the host site to demand the removal of the pirated content.

Please use the form below to provide as much information as possible about the suspected piracy of our books. Please copy and paste URLs directly from your browser address bar that lead to the pirated content.
